Brian Carey and Andrew Shorten (both Department of Politics and Public Administration) attended the third Consortium Meeting for the Mobility and Inclusion in Multilingual Europe Project (MIME), held at Universidade do Algarve, Portugal. This project, funded by the EU, involves more than 60 researchers from 22 research centres, from around 20 different countries.

On June 15th they attended a Stakeholder Forum, featuring contributions from John Costa, Portuguese Secretary of State for Education, Piet van Craen, expert in bilingual education of Vrije Universitat Brussels, and Terry Lamb, secretary of the International Federation of Modern Language Teachers. Over the next two days, the consortium’s work continued in a series of workshops, and the participants were welcomed by the Mayor of Faro on the afternoon of June 16.
