Dr Yvonne Cleary was invited to the CIUTI Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, to represent the TecCOMFrame project consortium. Her presentation described the background to, and current activities of, the EU-funded project in which she is a partner.

TecCOMFrame (Technical Communication Competence Framework) aims to develop standard curricula based on a common academic qualification and competence framework in order to establish and enhance academic training programs for technical communication throughout Europe.

The project runs for 36 months and is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. TecCOMFrame is initiated and coordinated by tekom Europe – Europe’s largest professional association for technical communication with a strong member base of more than 9,200 professionals. The project consortium further involves eight project partners from renowned universities across Europe. More information about TecCOMFrame is available at: www.teccom-frame.eu.

CIUTI is an international association of higher education institutions offering master’s degrees in translation and interpreting.

The Forum took place at the United Nations in Geneva on January 12th and 13th, 2017.
